Marker 48 Brewing to release barrel-aged imperial IPA
Press Release: For the third year, Marker 48 Brewing of Weeki Wachee will release bottles of their Spring Release barrel-aged IPA.
This year, fortunately, the word “spring” has multiple meanings.
In 2016 and 2017, the bottles were made available during the season of that name (there was no release in 2018 because of logistical issues). This year, the release will be in the summer – specifically Saturday, July 13.
Because of the aging method, though, “spring” remains legit. The beer was aged underwater in a local freshwater spring in Early Times Kentucky Whiskey barrels for 48 days.
This year’s version is an 8.5% ABV Imperial IPA brewed with El Dorado, Ella and Citra hops.
A limited amount of the brew will be on draft in the taproom, and 500ml bottles will be for sale – at the brewery only – beginning Saturday at noon. Only 200 bottles are available, and they are priced at $10 each or three for $25, available only at the brewery.
The brewers advise customers to NOT age this one, but keep it refrigerated and drink it as soon as possible.
