SweetWater Brewing rebrand 2024

Sweetwater Brewing unveils modern rebrand

Press Release: SweetWater Brewing Company (“SweetWater Brewing” or “SweetWater”), the largest craft brewer in the Southeast and a subsidiary of Tilray Brands, Inc., (NASDAQ: TLRY and TSX: TLRY), today announced a design refresh to make the Sweetwater brand more impactful, cohesive, and memorable to consumers. SweetWater’s updated portfolio of beers is available now across the Southeast and in select national markets.

The new logo and packaging are part of a renewal of SweetWater’s portfolio, which includes new names for select year-round beers, as well as new innovations, such as the 420 Pale Ale brand family, an expansion of the iconic 420 Pale Ale that includes three new versions of the classic beer. SweetWater is focused on appealing to a wider audience with a modern and relatable aesthetic, improved shelf visibility, and style-driven brand families and innovation platforms that strongly align with both established and emerging categories.

SweetWater Brewing Shares New Branding

Prinz Pinakatt, Chief Marketing Officer, Tilray Beer at Tilray Brands, said, “This rebrand marks a new chapter for SweetWater and is a celebration of the craft beer revolution sparked in Atlanta. We want to build off the SweetWater legacy built over nearly three decades by finding new ways to stand out and attract the next generation of SweetWater fans with an appealing look and enticing lineup of classic craft beer styles, exciting innovations, and beyond-beer offerings. We’ve also renamed our IPA to ‘Atlanta’s OG IPA’ and wrapped our cans and packaging with psychedelic artwork depicting Sweetwater creek, staying true to our brand DNA.”

Born and brewed in Atlanta, SweetWater’s refreshed year-round lineup includes:

  • Atlanta’s OG IPA (6.3% ABV): SweetWater’s original IPA, hopped to the gills to lay down hints of grapefruit and pine on the palate, with a clean and bright finish.
  • Tropical High Hazy IPA (6.2% ABV): With a tropical breeze of mango, stone fruit, lime, and pine flavors, this isn’t a mirage, but a tasty refreshing oasis in your pursuit of haziness.
  • Gone Trippin’ West Coast-style IPA (7% ABV): The style that started it all, Gone Trippin’ heads straight to the coast with its citrus and pine hop aromas paired with a malty backbone to stay on center.
  • G13 Dank Double Hazy IPA (9% ABV): SweetWater’s signature one-two punch of piney, citrusy hops paired with authentic strain-specific terpenes creates a dank and juicy hybrid hazy IPA that’s ready to rip with an elevated ABV.
  • G13 Hazy IPA (6% ABV): This draft-only brew features G13’s legendary dank and resinous aromas with a lower ABV.
  • Goin’ Coastal Pineapple IPA (6.1% ABV): This pineapple-laced IPA delivers bright aromas from the Columbus, Cascade, Simcoe, Centennial and Citra hop additions, followed by a quick finish, just like those three-day weekends.
  • Tropical Dub Hazy Double IPA (8.5% ABV): This hazy, juicy, double dry-hopped IPA hits high notes of mango, passionfruit, pineapple, and pine with a nice dose of wheat and oats that create a smooth, easy-drinking experience.
  • High Light IPA (4% ABV): A session IPA brewed with sticky Hop Hash to keep the flavor high, calories low, and ABV mellow, crisp and crushable.
  • Blue Blueberry Wheat Ale (4.6% ABV): A fan-favorite classic from SweetWater, this easy-drinking ale features a subtle and appealing blueberry aroma and an extra clean finish.
  • American Lager (4.5%): SweetWater American Lager isn’t meant to be complicated. This easy-drinking brew features a 100% pilsner grain bill to create a crispy, clean body with elevated spicy and floral hop notes that keep the alcohol and bitterness low.
  • 420 Pale Ale family: SweetWater’s iconic 420 Pale Ale (5.7% ABV) is joined by three new styles inspired by the classic: 420 Citrus Haze Hazy Pale Ale (5.4% ABV), 420 Extra Chill Cold Pale Ale (4.5% ABV), and 420 Mango Crush Pale Ale (4.8% ABV).

SweetWater sending new cork & caged series to Florida

Among a list of seasonal beers floating down to Florida, Atlanta’s SweetWater Brewing has announced that the Sunshine State will see a “limited amount” of their new Cork & Cage Series beer dubbed “The Pit & The Pendulum.”

From SweetWater Brewing:

The newest brew from our Cork & Cage series, The Pit & The Pendulum, gets released on Wednesday, July 22. Our lead brewers on this heady experiment, Nick Bourgoyne and Chris Meadows, describe this wild ale as “the kind of beer we hunt for to drink at home.” Peach puree and Brettanomyces give it a nice funk – drink it now for stronger peach flavor, or put this guy in the cellar to allow the Brett to intensify.

Look for limited amounts throughout SweetWater’s Florida distribution.

SweetWater to send new seasonal to Florida

Press Release:

SweetWater Brewing Co. wants folks to dodge catching a cold this winter and instead cast lines to catch an all-new coldie – Spinnerbait. The new seasonal sipper makes its debut in the winter slot of the brewery’s Catch & Release lineup from December to February.

Brewers lured in a few first-ever SweetWater ingredients for the creation of this true Belgian red ale. Mixing it up with fresh Aromatic malt (new to SweetWater’s stash), Spinnerbait also swirls in a blend of 2-row, Pilsner, wheat and black wheat malts; Columbus, Willamette and US Golding hops; Ardennes yeast; and tops it all off with Belgian rock candy in the whirlpool. This catch weighs in at 6-percent alcohol by volume and 25 IBUs.

Spinnerbait’s sweet malty currents and deep red hues set out to tingle the taste buds. Belgian Ardennes yeast brings out fruity esters and spicy notes giving this brew a complex character and making it a classic selection for the season. Belgian rock candy sugar sets the stage for the earthy hops to bring in a balanced, spicy yet sweet finish.

Beginning the week of Dec. 1, Spinnerbait will make its seasonal run on draft taps and shelves, in 6-packs and SweetWater’s winter Tackle Box variety packs throughout SweetWater’s entire footprint. Fans should reel ‘em in while the fishing is good, ‘cause this seasonal brew is only ripping lips through winter coat season.

Press Release:

The Georgia-based brewery announces the return of Festive Ale this October, followed by a brand-spankin’ new haul – Spinnerbait, a Belgian red ale – hookin’ folks later this winter. To continue spicing things up, the brewery is bustin’ out its fish-themed icon on their can tabs catching eyeballs, while folks catch a buzz, later this November.

Festive Ale Returns (October – December): SweetWater is bringing back the festivus for the rest of us once again. This perfect holiday brew is sure to put fans in the mood for roasting chestnuts and jingling their bells. Measuring in at 8.6% ABV, this high-gravity brew is sure to keep drinkers warm and toasted all winter long.

Mark it down on the gift lists, ‘cause just like the holidays, this limited-release sipper only comes around once a year. Festive Ale will be wrapped up in six-packs of 12-oz bottles, 22-ounce hand-waxed bombers and pouring on draft throughout the Southeast beginning this week through December.

Belgian Red Debuts (December – February): Brewers are stimulating the senses with a brand-new brew joining SweetWater’s Catch and Release seasonal series this winter – Spinnerbait. The Belgian-style red ale will boast sweet malty currents and deep red hues. Spinnerbait will be sinking its suds onto shelves throughout the Southeast in 6-packs, SweetWater’s winter Tackle Box variety packs and draft taps. More info on beer specs, release dates and tasting notes to follow.

New Trout Can Tabs: Always looking for a new opportunity to stay off the mainstream, SweetWater is giving its can tabs a fish facelift this fall, showing off a new rainbow trout pattern. SweetWater Brewing brings a new year-round beer to Florida

Press Release:

Ever since Johnny Ha$h hit shelves back in April, folks have been begging for more. Up until now it’s been tough cookies, cuz Dank Tanks are just like that graduation night hookup – one and done.

Good news is, Nick Nock and the rest our brewers have been cookin’ up a little something similar for our year-round lineup – a hoptacular double IPA we’re calling Hop Hash.

This baby clocks in around a sticky 8% ABV and is brewed with hop hash that was scraped straight out of hop peletizers from Yakima, WA. This sucker rolls heavy with citrus hops – expect some orange, lime and grapefruit (or greatfruit as Gam Gam used to call it) balanced out with a little floral/earthiness. Coming your way on draft and in 6-packs this October!
