Allagash Brewing Company to send beer to Florida for first time in ten years

Allagash Brewing Company today announced it is sending a beer care package to their friends in Florida. The Portland, Maine-based brewery will send its flagship Allagash White and Belgian-inspired session ale River Trip to the Sunshine State at the beginning of June. Beers will be sold at Total Wine stores throughout the state.

“We love being able to reconnect with old friends,” said Rob Tod, founder, Allagash Brewing Company. “We left the Florida market 10 years ago and are excited to bring a selection of our core beers back to the state’s burgeoning beer scene.”

Allagash is currently distributed in 17 states and D.C.

“We recently had an exciting opportunity to partner with Total Wine and sell select packaged beer through all of its stores across Florida,” said Naomi Neville, sales director, Allagash Brewing Company. “We think that offering cans of Allagash White and River Trip—two fan-favorites in our lineup—is a great way to reintroduce ourselves to Florida’s craft beer fans.”

Allagash beers that will be available in Florida include:

  • Allagash White: Winner of multiple World Beer Cup, European Beer Star and Great American Beer Festival awards, Allagash White is a Belgian-style wheat beer, brewed with oats, malted wheat, and unmalted raw wheat for a hazy, “white” appearance. Spiced with Allagash’s special blend of coriander and Curaçao orange peel, Allagash White is both complex and refreshing. (Available in 12-pack 12 oz. cans and 4-pack 16 oz. cans)
  • Allagash River Trip: Hailed the number one beer of 2019 by VinePair, River Trip is a low-ABV, Belgian-style table beer with hop-forward grapefruit and stone fruit notes. It’s brewed with local grains and spiced with coriander for an extra hint of citrus. Dry hopping with Comet and Azacca contributes to the mix of melon and grapefruit notes in the beer’s aroma. (Available in 4-pack 16 oz. cans)

Forbidden Root Brewery is coming to Florida

Press Release: Forbidden Root Brewery of Chicago announces partnership with Cavalier Distributing. Forbidden Root will be available through Cavalier Distributing in Florida in early 2017.

Bark, stems, flowers, herbs, spices, leaves, roots, and other foraged flavors have long been part of beer, but botanic brews in America were displaced by carbonated sodas in the early 20th century. At Forbidden Root, this early brewing tradition has been a springboard for great creativity and exploration. “We didn’t invent botanic beer, we simply embraced it,” says Director of Sales Lincoln Anderson.

Forbidden Root Brewery’s rapid growth is indicative of the quality and original beer they are producing. Forbidden Root will be offering their core lineup of brews in Ohio including:

Money on My Rind – A 5% ABV witbier spiked with juniper berries and the deliciousness of pure grapefruit, with peppery grains of paradise;
Sublime Ginger – A 3.8% ABV dry and creamy wheat beer with a splash of fresh key lime juice, a delicious bite of ginger, honeybush, and lemon myrtle; and
Wildflower Pale Ale (WPA) – A 5.6% pale ale with refreshing hop aroma and citrusy character with the subtle addition of elderflower, marigold, and sweet Osmanthus flowers.

Details on Saint Arnold Brewing’s Florida distribution

Press Release:
Saint Arnold Brewing Company Extends Reach to Florida Gulf Coast Markets

Houston brewery’s world-class beers now available to craft beer fans in four states

HOUSTON, November 4, 2013 – Saint Arnold Brewing Co. (www.saintarnold.com), the oldest craft
brewery in Texas, has finalized agreements with distributors in Florida and will enter markets along Florida’s Gulf Coast this month. Florida is just the fourth state where Saint Arnold beers are available, joining Texas, Louisiana and Colorado.

Saint Arnold, which is named for Saint Arnold of Metz, the patron saint of brewers, is ranked 45th on the Brewers Association list of top craft breweries. It operates out of a 104,000 square foot 3-story brick building originally constructed in 1914. Saint Arnold’s brewhouse was imported from Klosterbrauerei Raitenhaslach, a Bavarian monastery.

“We’ve been serving beer enthusiasts along the Gulf Coast for nearly 20 years – first in Texas and for the past three years in Louisiana – and we think we’ll fit right into the markets along Florida’s Gulf Coast,” said Saint Arnold Founder/Brewer Brock Wagner.

Saint Arnold inked agreements with Coastal Beverage Ltd., Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, Great Bay Distributors Inc., Lewis Bear Company, Peace River Distributing, Pepin Distributing Company, Suncoast Beverage Sales and Tri Eagle Sales. The agreements pave the way for Saint Arnold’s expansion into Gulf Coast Markets from Pensacola to Naples, Florida.

Initially, Florida beer fans will find the following on tap in restaurants and pubs, with gradually expanding retail distribution of six-packs:

Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower Beer – A true German-style Kölsch that is crisp yet has a sweet malty body that is balanced by a complex, citrus hop character. This delicate flavor is achieved through multiple additions of German Hallertauer hops.

Saint Arnold Elissa IPA – A hoppy beer that achieves proper balance with malty body despite huge hop additions in the kettle that give it a wonderful bitterness. Elissa IPA is dry-hopped in the fermenter to create the pleasant floral, hoppy nose.

Saint Arnold Christmas Ale – A rich, hearty ale featuring five different malts, making it perfect for the holiday season with a malty sweetness and spicy hop character. It can be paired with fruit cake, Christmas pudding and squash bisque. Saint Arnold to Enter Florida

During its first 19 years, Saint Arnold has grown slowly and carefully, emphasizing quality and flavor. Its reputation for brewing world-class beers was bolstered at last month’s Great American Beer Festival when Saint Arnold became one of the few breweries that can boast of a complete lineup of 13 year-round and seasonal beers that have won GABF or World Beer Cup medals. Over the years, Saint Arnold’s beers have been recognized with 18 medals at the Great American Beer Festival and 10 World Beer Cup awards.
