The Orlando area is always on the mind of sunshine-loving tourists. While Orlando’s stalwart breweries are keeping the flame of good beer burning, the area is about to get three new additions. According to an article in the Orlando Sentinel, the eastern side of central Florida has several citizens building their sudsy dreams.

Persimmon Hollow Brewing Company: Robbie Carelli and Andy Sistrunk are working to build Persimmon Hollow Brewing Company in the DeLand area of the east coast. These partners christened their brewery for the historic name of DeLand and have a building on Georgia Avenue. The brewery duo were homebrewers before beer dreams lead them to entrepreneurship and have perfected 14-20 recipes to serve to thirsty patrons.

Ten 10 Brewing Company: Owner Mike Wallace has plans to open a brewery and tasting room on Virginia Drive in Orlando, but plans can change. Ten 10 Brewing Company has leased the space that was once scheduled to be home to Orange Blossom Brewing in Orlando, and would like to be open by September. Wallace, a former employee of Terrapin Brewing Company, wants to have twelve taps of craft beer on draft in a 2,800 square-foot space.

Wop’s Hops: Owner Greg Piecora has used a term that many deem offensive and tried to turn it on its head, since it is the term his wife uses for his brewing hobby. Piecora and co-owner Peter Minelga have bought the old Stokes Fish Market building on Sanford Avenue. The duo plan to open a brewery and 1,000 square-foot tasting room to accommodate locals and drivers passing through Sanford, complete with a patio for drinking in the sunshine. Until the brewery opens, Piecora’s beers can be sampled in the small batches that he makes for Marco Dino’s Italian Ristorante in Sanford.
