U.S. Open Beer Tasting Championship

Congratulations to Florida breweries who medaled at U.S. Open Beer Tasting Championship

Several Florida craft breweries went to sleep Sunday night not sure how they would have placed in the U.S. Open Beer Tasting Championship, and when they awoke on Monday morning, those breweries found out that they had taken home medals while competing against very stiff competition.

Wynwood beers coming to bottles

Wynwood Brewing has a list of accolades attached to them – Miami’s first production brewery in several decades, a gold medal from the Great American Beer Festival, and now another step in their growth- bottled beers.

Wynwood posted a picture of some bottle labels with a promise that La Rubia and Pop’s Porter will be in bottles before the end of the month (August). Earlier this week, co-founder Pops Brignoni posted a picture of brewery staff bottling. It looks like Wynwood is well on their way to accomplishing this goal.

Wynwood Brewing is located at 565 Northwest 24th Street in the Wynwood area of Miami.

Wynwood Brewing to set sail on a cruise ship

Wynwood Brewing Company has taken Miami by storm, first with their opening, then with their Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal. Now the Miami craft brewery has their eye to the horizon in a different way: Wynwood beer will soon be available as part of a partnership with the Norwegian Cruise Line. With the partnership in place, Wynwood Brewing would have an exclusive beer and some guest taps on board the Norwegian ship “Escape.”

According to an article from Miami.com, “Wynwood Brewing is working on an exclusive beer for Norwegian Escape’s District Brew House, which also will feature a full lineup of Wynwood’s draft beers plus selections from guest breweries — 24 draft options and more than 50 bottled choices.”

The Norwegian Escape is set to sail from Miami beginning in November.

Wynwood Brewing announces next bottle release

Press Release:

The Wynwood Brewing Company announced the special release of its second beer bottle – San Francisco – a Belgian Golden Strong Ale aged in bourbon barrels for the past six months. The limited release of only 400 bottles is part of the Shipwreck Series which the brewery started with El Infante during their first anniversary celebration in August 2014. The special release will be at the WBCo. Tap Room on Wednesday, November 5 at 6 pm. The cost of the bottle is $20 and there is a limit of two per person. The brewery and the tap room are located at 565 NW 24th Street, Miami, FL.

The “San Francisco” beer originates with the WBCo.’s Father Francisco aged for almost six months in bourbon barrels. This Belgian Golden Strong Ale has acquired wonderful notes of bourbon, vanilla, cream, and a nice hint of charred wooden smokey-goodness. The artwork for the bottle was exclusively done for WBCo. by renowned Miami street artist Claudio Picasso – CP1.

Wynwood Brewing Company’s exclusive Shipwreck Series are named after famous Spanish galleons shipwrecked off the Florida coast. The “San Francisco” is one of the most beautiful ship wrecks from the 1730’s because of its location in less than 6 feet of water off Long Key Florida.
