Funky Buddha Brewery and The Bruery Collaborate on Guava Libre

Press Release: Placentia, California’s The Bruery and Oakland Park, Florida’s Funky Buddha Brewery collaborate on Guava Libre.

Looking for a sensory getaway that transports you to straight to Cuba? Look no further. With the help of Funky Buddha in South Florida, The Bruery was able to recreate the flavors that you’d find in a Cuban guava pastry without the hassle of traveling to a Cuban bodega. This delicious imperial cream ale with guava and vanilla will have your taste buds thanking you right after your first sip. ¡Guava Libre! champions the big, bold flavors that both of our breweries are known for. The Bruery and Funky Buddha brewed this imperial cream ale, adding lactose and vanilla to impart sweet, custard-like ribbons and guava for filling its conceptual authenticity. It’s a collaboration that’s equal parts inspiration and admiration.

Imperial Cream Ale with Guava and Vanilla

This new imperial cream ale pairs well with delicious fried yucca patties, papas rellenas, shrimp empanada, or of course a Cuban guava pastry. You can eat your dessert and drink it too!

About The Bruery
The Bruery is a boutique craft brewery located in Orange County, CA specializing in barrel aged and experimental ales. Founded as a small, friend & family run business in 2008, The Bruery takes it’s unique moniker from founder Patrick Rue’s family surname. The Bruery is founded on the excitement that Patrick felt in those first years of homebrewing and we continue to strive for that same passion in every aspect of our business today. We never stop challenging ourselves to develop distinctive & imaginative beers, constantly pursuing improvement in all that we do. We brew dozens of original beers each year with our list of ingredients and inspirations growing perpetually. Our collection of oak barrels has also become a primary element of our brewery. Nearly half of our beer is aged in wine or spirit barrels bringing forth flavors reminiscent of the Belgian countryside or classic American distillers.

About Funky Buddha Brewery
Funky Buddha Brewery was founded in 2010 in Boca Raton, Florida, and is committed to producing bold craft beers that marry culinary-inspired ingredients with time-honored technique. Our mantra is big, bold flavors, made exactingly with natural ingredients. So, for example, if we say a beer will taste like peanut butter and jelly, you can be sure you’ll smell and taste the fresh roasted peanuts and fruity berry jam. Our flagship beers such as Hop Gun IPA and Floridian Hefeweizen, also strive towards big, bold flavor. It’s who we are. Our Brewery is located in the heart of Oakland Park’s new Culinary Arts District. The 54,000 sq-ft facility is powered by a 30-barrel, three-piece brewhouse, which feeds nearly 45,000 BBLs of capacity, making us South Florida’s largest craft microbrewery. Each of our distinctive beers is brewed using the finest, all-natural ingredients. We offer tours of our facility, scratch-made grub, and dozens of delicious beers on tap daily.
