Press Release: On the third Saturday in September, the city of Munich will kick off its 186 th Oktoberfest celebration. In Ybor City on the same day, steins will be raised high in honor of the world’s largest beer festival. While Oktoberfest in Germany runs through October 6, it’s a one-day affair at Coppertail, so grab your lederhosen and get to gettin’—the party starts at 11 AM.
The free admission event will feature lots of German tradition—starting with, most importantly, the beer. This year’s Oktoberfest release will be flowing like the Rhine. There will also be a Dunkel, and special liter steins of select beer offerings. Commemorative steins will sell for $20 and will include an initial pour; but plan to be here early—in past steins sold out fast. For those who want to extend the party beyond September 21, Coppertail’s Oktoberfest release will be available statewide in 16-
oz. 4-pack cans.
“Oktoberfest is a wonderful annual tradition, and one we especially look forward to,” said Kent Bailey, President and co-founder of Coppertail Brewing Co. “This is our fourth Oktoberfest celebration, and with another successful year behind us, the opening of our onsite restaurant, Coppertail Kitchen and yet another delicious Oktoberfest release, there are many great reasons to celebrate like they do in Munich!”
Coppertail’s Oktoberfest will model itself on the original, with games, German music, and traditional German food. Games will include a stein hoist and a keg roll. A traditional oom-pah band will add to the festivities and Coppertail Kitchen will be offering an Oktoberfest menu. Festivities are expected to run through closing time. Prost!
