Open since 1999 in Jacksonville, Seven Bridges Grille and Brewery has suffered the same fate as sister restaurant, Ragtime Tavern of Atlantic Beach and has suddenly gone dark.

According to an article from The Jacksonville Daily Record, the restaurant and brewery was suddenly closed, and staff confirmed this to the paper.

Seven Bridges Grille & Brewery was once a bright light in the Jacksonville Brewing Scene, as recounted in The Great Florida Craft Beer Guide by Mark DeNote (2014).

“On the outside, Seven Bridges Grille & Brewery looks like a standard restaurant with a brewery attached, but the beer is anything but standard. While the Gordon Biersch Brewing Company owns Seven Bridges, the company allows leeway for its brewers to be creative and brew original beer as well.

[B]rewer Aaron Nesbitt has two available taps at any given time to pour his beer next to Gordon Biersch’s standard offerings. At the end of the draft tower, or maybe in a cask behind the bar, may be a vanilla stout or bourbon-barrel IPA made only for Seven Bridges.”

As for the cause of the closure, the Daily Record talks about the pub’s ownership record, after CraftWorks (Gordon Biersch) sold the facility off. “Seven Bridges is owned by Kelly Companies of Southern California, a private equity company with offices in San Diego and Pittsburgh that owns multiple restaurants and other businesses.

Kelly Companies acquired Seven Bridges in 2024 from SPB Hospitality, who sold it along with Ragtime Tavern in Atlantic Beach. Kelly Companies closed Ragtime in January.

Private equity investment fund Fortress Investment Group owns SPB Hospitality.

Before that, it was owned by CraftWorks Holdings, which declared bankruptcy in 2020 and reached a deal with Fortress.”
